Young Scholars

Special Needs

Welcome

At Young Scholars for Special Needs, our Sunday School classrooms bring together neurodiverse children of varying ages and learning styles in a supportive and engaging setting. We are committed to fostering a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, included, and connected to their community—all while learning and growing in the way of Allah.

Students with special needs are given individualized lesson plans that focus on their unique needs, while also providing them the opportunity to learn, engage, and achieve success in their Deen.

About the Program

The Young Scholars Special Needs pilot program is a new initiative at VRIC Quran School, created with love and care to support children with unique learning needs.

Our Goals

  • Nurture every child’s connection to Allah and the Quran.
  • Make learning stress-free, engaging, and meaningful.

Through hands-on, project-based learning and sensory experiences, students enjoy interactive lessons that spark curiosity, encourage participation, and deepen their connection to Islam.

Curriculum

The curriculum mirrors the Young Scholars program but is adapted in pacing and delivery to meet each child’s specific needs.

Visual schedules, gentle reminders, and smooth transitions.

Positive Reinforcement

Praise, token systems, and small rewards to celebrate successes.

Individual Support

Personalized behavior plans, sensory tools, and quiet spaces.

Gentle Redirection

Encouraging desired behaviors with kindness instead of punishment.

Breaks & Regulation

Movement breaks and calm corners to help students self-regulate.

Communication Support

Clear, simple language and honoring all communication methods.

Most Important-

Partnership with Families
